Please join us for the Opening Reception

Working Women Artists, a fixture in the Lansing area art community since 1987, was formed to foster the growth and development of self-defined women artists through networking and information sharing, presenting educational programs, and creating opportunities to exhibit  together. We are an eclectic and adventurous group by nature, and we are delighted to offer a similarly eclectic sampler of our work at Grove Gallery. We are especially delighted with the timing, since July 2017 marks thirty years since our first organizational meeting.
Participating artists: Candace Merkel, Diana Yount, Jane Hildebrand, Kelly Boyle, Lisabeth Curnow, Lyn Shafer, Lynn Hershberger, Maureen Ryan, Melinda Pope, Michelle Detering, Sharon Wood, Young-Shill Roberts

Women with Wine & Knives
Prints by the Grove Gallery Printmakers Collective

Reception also on Thursday, July 20

This exhibit highlights work of the Grove Printmakers Collective (aka. The Lino Ladies). These talented printmakers meet monthly for inspiration, support, and laughter.
Under the leadership of Laura DeLind, the work continues to evolve—black and white, colored prints, and the on-going incorporation of other media (such as poetry, textiles/fiber, and papermaking). In addition to hand-printing, we have been experimenting with our etching press, acquired with the support of a Chris Clark Fellowship Grant (sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater Lansing) and Grove Gallery & Studios.
The Michigan Council of Art and Cultural Affairs funded our Mokuhanga workshop with printmaker Linda Beeman, our latest foray into exploring new printing techniques. The journey has just begun! Buckle up!
Printmakers:  Laura DeLind, Kate McNenly, Rosemary Edgar, Michele Root-Bernstein,
Candace Farmer, Sharan Egan, Deb Cholewicki Martha Brownscombe.

Fall will open with a member exhibit. We're all working on that!

Grove Gallery & Studios is one of East Lansing's premier art galleries—
a unique space, exhibiting a wide range of media, and providing an opportunity to see working artist studios.

It's a gem, right in the heart of East Lansing at 325 Grove Street, a few steps up from Hop Cat at the corner of Albert Street and Grove Street. You can park in the city lot or the ramp. It's less than a minute's walk to the gallery.
